1. Pay Attention, Kid! by Daniel Willingham

Daniel asks whether the recent trend in the US - and in the UK - for schools to ban mobile phones will solve the problem of reducing student distraction, or has the long-term use of digital technologies rendered many students unable to sustain their focus?

2. Managing the Room by Nimish Lad

This is a post that should be mandatory reading for all senior leaders who organise meetings. Nimish shares Robert Frisch’s core insights about being explicit and stage-setting to ensure that leaders don’t waste any of their team’s precious time.

3. Reframing success by Jo Castelino

In much the same way as the Bjorks distinguish between performance and learning, Jo warns against a focus on short-term measures of success (lots of lovely ticks in books), and instead suggests ways we can help students achieve and feel successful for the long term.
