Here are three blog posts that I found interesting this week.
1. It’s always better to know by David Didau
Controversial statement alert: I think one of the reasons some teachers do not effectively check for understanding—so they ask the high-attaining, confident volunteers with their hands eagerly raised instead of asking everyone to put their answer on a mini-whiteboard—is that they would rather not know a lack of understanding exists because it is difficult to deal with. David delves into this area in this blog post.
2. The Dilemma of Difference (Part 1) by Matthew Evans
I don’t know enough about SEND. It’s as simple as that. Matthew’s recent trilogy of posts - the first of which is linked to here - has helped me better appreciate the crisis we are in, and potential ways out of it.
3. Easy Application of Interleaving in the Classroom by Blake Harvard
Blake has found an interleaving study with a super simple classroom application. Enjoy!
