Here are three blog posts that I found interesting this week.
1. Choral Response and ‘I Say You Say’ by Pritesh Raichura
This is an excellent blog post from Pritiesh, the King of Securing Attention, on the benefits and subtleties of getting students to say something out loud in unison.
2. Learning from mistakes versus Learning from explanations by Andrew Watson
I had not seen this paper before on allocating lesson time following an assessment - is it best to re-teach or delve into student errors? Andrew picks out the key practical implications.
3. The Power of Pre-teaching by Dylan Kane
Most small-group, out-of-lesson intervention is designed to fill in knowledge gaps in the topics students have just covered. Dylan says instead, we should use those sessions to teach students the concepts they are about to study in class.
