Here are three blog posts that I found interesting this week.
1. Is AI really that scary? Where to begin with using AI to support teaching by the Dunnington Research Team
The world may be AI-obsessed, but I am interested in concrete examples of how teachers use AI to do their jobs quicker or better. This post provides a great example of how a Head of Maths uses ChatGTP to improve the vocabulary provision in his scheme of work.
2. Coaching cut #1: 'what if' questions by Sarah Cottingham
Sarah’s blog continues to be a source of gold for anyone involved in coaching, lesson observations or giving feedback. In this post, Sarah looks at the use of what if questions during feedback to help the teacher think deeply about a given technique. There’s even a short video of a coaching session to analyse.
3. But my students like written comments... by Daisy Christodoulou
More thoughts on individualised written comments versus whole class feedback from Daisy. This time, she proposes a “best of both worlds” solution using comparative judgment and AI. This has real potential!
