Here are three blog posts that I found interesting this week.
1. AI feedback: a thermometer or a thermostat? by Daisy Christodoulou
Daisy draws the simple and yet powerful distinction between written feedback that is accurate and feedback that is useful. Teachers often spend hours on a Sunday doing the former, and it seems AI might be falling into the same trap.
2. Why do students hate homework? (and how can we help them to see it can help!) by Jo Castelino
More wise advice from the Queen of Homework, Jo. Reframing how we talk about homework to our students really stood out for me.
3. Insights Teachers Should Share with Pupils by Jon Sellick
This is a lovely guide from Jon to share with students, showing them many different ways to be brilliant. I love that it includes insights from cognitive science (spaced repetition), but also life skills such as sleeping well and exercising. I could use some of this advice myself.
If you found this edition of 3-Read Friday useful, you might like to check out my new 90-minute online CPD workshops. But, most important of all, have a great weekend.
