Here are three blog posts that I found interesting this week.
1. Silence by Dylan Kane
Dylan shares three practical ideas to help students work more productively in silence. And yes, one of them is mine, but I promise that is not why I chose this post…
2. Three Lessons Learned from Coaching Teachers by Sarah Cottinghatt
Sarah outlines three key things she has learned from coaching teachers. The second one in particular - don’t dismantle what you don’t understand - resonated with me. There’s gold here about teaching and professional development for coaches and non-coaches alike.
3. How We Learn from Errors by Jonathan Firth
I have been obsessed with mistakes and misconceptions for years. While it is inevitable that students will make errors, is it desirable? Jonathan’s post has got me thinking hard about this and sent me off to do some further reading.
If you found this edition of 3-Read Friday useful, feel free to share it with colleagues. Also, you can check out all the back issues of my Eedi newsletter and Tips for Teachers newsletter here. But, most importantly of all, have a great weekend.
