Here are three blog posts that I found interesting this week.
1. How I Try to Help Schools to Teach Reading More Effectively by Chris Such
With a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old at home, I am obsessed with the process of learning to read. And there is no one better at distilling both theory and practice than Chris.
2. Artificial Intelligence Cannot Plan by Ben Newmark
I recently kicked off a trilogy of posts looking at AI's role in supporting teachers’ planning, so I read Ben’s post with interest. I think I am more optimistic than he is, but the point about all the other innovations that were supposed to save teachers time really hit home.
3. Are Some Students Smarter Than Others? by Dylan Kane
If you fancy a solid overview of intelligence research and its implications for teaching - and who wouldn’t? - Dylan's article is excellent.
If you found this edition of 3-Read Friday useful, feel free to share it with colleagues. Also, you can check out all the back issues of my Eedi newsletter and Tips for Teachers newsletter here. But, most importantly of all, have a great weekend.
