☀️ Eedi Summer Club is back! Read here for more details ☀️
Here are three blog posts that I found interesting this week.
1. On erring and mistakes by Jo Castelino
Every teacher wants a classroom where their students are not afraid to make mistakes - a culture of error is the fancy term for this. But how do we create such a culture when making a mistake in front of your peers can be one of the worst feelings in the world for a child? Jo’s post has some excellent, practical suggestions.
2. What did Ofsted want schools to improve in 2023-2024? by Pete Foster
Pete has read 70 Ofsted reports in an effort to pick out the key things schools - according to Ofsted, at least - should look to improve. I found the section on what secondary schools rated as Good should work on, with Checking for Understanding right at the top of the list.
3. ERRR #092. Harry Fletcher-Wood on Running Effective Professional Development by Ollie Lovell
I am going rogue for my final entry by recommending a podcast. Ollie’s interview with Harry Fletcher-Wood is absolute gold for anyone who plans or runs CPD, whether senior leaders, or heads of department leading meetings.
If you found this edition of 3-Read Friday useful, feel free to share it with colleagues. Also, you can check out all the back issues of my Eedi newsletter and Tips for Teachers newsletter here. But, most importantly of all, have a great weekend… and a great summer!
