Here are three blog posts that I found interesting this week.
1. Rehearsal in PD by Peps Mccrea
The introduction of rehearsal has been the biggest change I have made to my coaching and CPD sessions. I resisted rehearsal for many years as I found it a bit cringey and didn’t see its purpose. Now, I couldn’t imagine not including rehearsal. This summary from the ever-precise and concise Peps outlines the importance of rehearsal.
2. Looking at assessments differently by Jo Castelino
Speaking of changes… regarding tests as tools of learning rather than simply tools of assessments was a big shift in mindset, both for me and my students. In this post, Jo looks back at the reasons she used to give her students tests, and why she gives them now.
3. Naked explanation by Pete Foster
Here is a click-bait title if ever I read one. Fear not though, our clothes are staying on, as Pete looks at what we can do both in the foreground and in the background to improve our explanations.
If you found this edition of 3-Read Friday useful, feel free to share it with colleagues. Also, you can check out all the back issues of my Eedi newsletter and Tips for Teachers newsletter here. But, most importantly of all, have a great weekend.
